During 6-7 April 2018 the Scout Training has refugee youth numbering 148 persons, including 72 youth of 44 male and 28 female in Ban Mae Lama Luang and 76 youth including 26 male and 50 female in Ban Mae La Oon camp, participated.

   The purpose of this scouting activity was to make youth familiar with disciplines, regulations and unity. This year the theme of the activity was to have youth be aware of ASEAN community and its activities by dividing participants in 10 groups. Each represent one nation: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Then youth were listening to rules and regulations of scout camping activities.

   Then came the time about history of scouting. The scout principle methods emphasize on learning by doing activities that build self-confidence, reliability, readiness, teamworking, etc., which eventually lead to collaboration and leadership through their progressive and attractive activities.

   This activity aims at having participants helping each other for accomplishment. Planning, collaboration and concentration on activity are also keys of success.

   Searching for treasure under water is an activity in which participants have to learn to use skills, patience and supporting each other for success.

   Reaching out – this activity need teamwork and communication between participants in order to reach the goal. Overcoming any obstacles by good communication and followed by a good leadership.

   Day 2 Activities Learning about traditional herb: Usage and Benefits of Herbs: Lemon grass, tamarind, lemon, turmeric, etc.

Trying to find materials around themselves to make musical instrument and play as beautifully as possible.

Crawling skills to practice bravery and patience.

Fun with Rope Traverse Training using climbing skills and strength

   Survival in jungle: using bamboo and leaves as kitchenware and tableware, in cooking rice, boil egg, grill fish, etc.
